Conners, was the pioneer of this area and built the streets, dredged the finger canals and opened up the backwater to the salt water. It is said that he chose the name “Vanderbilt Beach” as a marketing move to create the impression of wealth and prestige.

Some of the homes have long water views if they are situated at the end of the cul-de-sac.
